Financing and repayment help

Consolidation, bank repayment assistance and AKPK

Understand how these options differ and where to seek appropriate help.

These are different routes: consolidation uses new financing, bank assistance addresses existing repayments, and AKPK offers relevant financial counselling and debt-management services. Choose the question you need answered—not just the label.

New financing for selected debts

Consolidation means applying for a new facility that settles specified old debts. Suitability depends on assessment, actual settlement figures and terms. Lower payments may mean a longer term and higher total repayment. SunLiTe can discuss this route; we do not lend or negotiate your bank’s repayment arrangement ourselves.

Help with the existing provider

If a payment is becoming difficult, contact your current provider promptly. BNM’s repayment-assistance page points to bank channels and tailored help. Ask what options apply to your account, their costs and duration, how they are reported, and what happens when the assistance ends.

Do not assume an enquiry has changed your due date or payment. Get confirmation of the arrangement and continue following the applicable schedule.

AKPK is not one single programme

AKPK provides financial education and counselling; its Debt Management Programme is a distinct relevant route to ask about. Contact AKPK directly through its official channels to clarify services, suitability and any programme conditions. Counselling is not automatically enrolment in DMP.

Do not rely on a universal claim about future financing access, eligibility or credit consequences. Those questions need the actual programme and provider terms. Official help should not require buying a SunLiTe service.

Fictional example

Fictional example: your income recently fell and next week’s instalment is unaffordable. Waiting for a new-financing application leaves the urgent payment unresolved. Contact the existing provider now and ask AKPK about appropriate assistance. You can explore a new-financing comparison separately if it is realistic.

If payments are manageable but you want fewer due dates, a consolidation discussion asks a different question. Compare cost and term before deciding; it is not automatically the best route because the payments are combined.

What to do next

Use BNM’s official repayment-assistance page to locate bank help and AKPK links. For immediate difficulty, do this before waiting for a new assessment.

Ask in writing what changes, what stays payable and what conditions apply. Do not stop payments because someone says an arrangement is “being processed”.

For a new-financing option, SunLiTe’s initial consultation is free. Paid work starts only after you agree to its scope and fees; contacting us does not commit you to it.
