Approved amount versus cash received
Understand how settlements and applicable deductions affect usable cash.
The amount approved is not always the cash available to spend. Settlement payments and any applicable deductions must be separated from the net proceeds reaching you.
Follow where the money goes
Start with the gross approved amount. Then identify payments sent to settle existing debts, applicable product deductions and the remaining amount credited to you. A facility can be larger than the cash received because part is used for settlements.
Do not assume every product deducts the same fees. Some products credit the approved amount without these deductions; others have an itemised structure. Ask for your own breakdown and confirm whether any charge is added to financing, deducted from proceeds or paid separately.
Cash received is not the only commitment
- A settlement payment is not extra spending money. Confirm the debts covered and who receives the payment.
- The new monthly repayment may be based on more than the net cash you receive. Read the actual agreement and schedule.
- If a promised “cash in hand” amount is important to your purpose, confirm it after all specified payments and deductions—not just the gross approval headline.
Fictional example
- Gross approved financing
- RM50,000
- Payments to settle specified old debts
- −RM35,000
- Hypothetical applicable deductions
- −RM800
- Usable cash in this example
- RM14,200
Fictional example: assume all settlement amounts are current, all deductions are shown, and no other amounts apply. RM50,000 − RM35,000 − RM800 = RM14,200. The RM800 is invented for this illustration; it is not a standard bank charge or SunLiTe fee.
If a settlement quotation changes before payment, or a separate cost applies, the net amount changes. A verbal estimate is not confirmation that exactly RM14,200 will reach the account.
What to do next
Request an itemised written breakdown: gross amount, each settlement, each deduction and net proceeds. Clarify payment destination and timing through the provider’s verified process.
Compare the new repayment with both the debts being replaced and those staying. Extra cash can also mean borrowing more; understand the cost of that choice.
SunLiTe’s initial consultation is free. If you choose a paid service, scope and fees are agreed first. Do not assume a fee, deduction or timing that has not been agreed. Ask us to explain the actual offer before deciding.
